Brushing our teeth

This is added into the schedule and done daily!  The kids do their best to brush on their own and then come to me to get help going back over to make sure they brushed well.

Daily Schedule

Daily- The day of the week, the season, the weather, and what we have planned for our schedule.  We do this mostly for the morning.  The afternoon is far less structured and lots more fun play time.  The kids love it!  The go up to the board and tell me what's next!

Kindergarten here we come!

I just finished my letter to Charlie to go in his baby book.  It's all about all the fun things we did this summer, how proud I am of him, and how much I wish I could slow time down to enjoy this phase of his childhood and our life together.  But more than that, it's about all that we haven't gotten to experience yet.  All the cool projects he will do at school, things he will learn, and memories he will make.  And I just want him to know that I'm right there on the sidelines cheering for him all the way.  He touches my heart every day.  He's charming, smart, and thoughtful.  It's easy to get caught up in focusing on milestones.  But here's a milestone I want to cherish.  He's going to make new friends, keep the teacher wrapped around his finger, and just keep being the special little boy that he is to us.  And I'm going to capture all of it.  From here foreward it's not about any missed marks.  It's about the journey and taking it all in.  No more talk of delays or other terminology.  It's about shaping him to be all that he can be.  And I'm his biggest fan.  So while tomorrow is only orientation, it's still a big day.  And I'll probably be a mess the rest of this week.  But I want to slow down and cherish this time.  Because I know it went by fast up till now.  And I know it's going to keep going fast.  So I'm going to stop and sit in the grass, play pretend, and just be there more.  I want to keep seeing things through Charlie's eyes.  It makes it all so exciting and fun.  And that's my wish for my little man.  For him to have fun.  To always have a smile on his face.  And no matter what, I want him to always know that I believe in him.  I'm proud of him.  I love him.

Breakfast juice

Fall placemats

With leaves from the pin oak out front!

Gluten free hawaiian pizza

The new potty schedule!

Posted right on the bathroom door. We take the times off and put them in a baggie taped next to it. A timer is set on the microwave to let us know when it's time to go try. We're having fun with it by everyone going in together. Regardless of whether they try or not, it's a great way for them to learn from one another. Charlie does better when the other kids are here to go in with him.

Halloween reading

Halloween books we have enjoyed. Especially Pumpkin circle which explains how pumpkins grow. My first halloween was Jeremy's sister Olivia's when she was little. It has a special note from grandma to Olivia. This will stay in the family for sure!

Things to write in my boys baby books....

Like snow on October 29th, 2011. A lot of snow actually. I've got to get better about writing in their books. I'll never forget about my parents telling stories about the weather, current events, and things that we said and did as children. Well this is one to document that's for sure! I'm thinking about getting them dressed in their halloween costumes and getting picts of them out in the snow. This is pretty cool!
